Linking-In to the Life Insurance Market

LinkedIn can be a valuable tool for growing your business – now is the time to open the door to the world of social media and client networking opportunities. Below are three easy tips for linking you and your business into the LinkedIn network.

Join

This, of course, is obvious and securing a LinkedIn account is extremely straightforward. To sign up all you need to do is provide your first and last name, as well as an email address. Once your account is created, you can add more information like your business details, education and skills. You can also create a business page, making your business information on your own personal page more reputable. Simply click on the “Companies” heading, and then on “create” to begin raising brand awareness about your business.

Add connections

Invite contacts who you already have saved in your email address book or search names of clients and co-workers already on LinkedIn. Connecting with someone allows you to see their employment history and gives you access to any interesting articles or personal projects which they choose to post on their page. You can “like” or comment on these posts in order to build and strengthen relationships with current or potential clients.

Share content

Just as you can browse content that your connections share, they can browse yours as well. By sharing interesting and relevant content you can engage and inform your clients through efficient networking. Sharing content shows that you are knowledgeable, that you are passionate about your business and, more importantly, your clients. Where can you find this content? Share links from your favourite life insurance news outlets or insurance blogs like PPI’s The Link Between (client-friendly articles to start those important conversations) and PPI’s Advisor Talk (our Advisor-focused blog).

In fact, why don’t you go one step further and sign up for PPI’s Your Link Between where you can share all the client-friendly articles, videos, tools and calculators from The Link Between via your own business-branded website (Advisor login required). It’s so easy!

And if you need a help setting up your LinkedIn page, use PPI’s LinkedIn Guide (Advisor login required) – it has all the instructions, tips and tricks you need to get your LinkedIn page up and running.
